Regal 2014: The Year in Review

The start of a new year is always a time to reflect on the past accomplishments. To that end, we present to you highlights from 2014 and opportunities for the upcoming year.

Making Industry Innovations a Top Priority

Regal Cutting Tools had two new major product introductions in 2014. SuperTuf taps were introduced in the spring to address the need for a domestic line of material specific standard taps. We also began manufacturing special material specific taps with a five day turnaround. Mid-summer, we introduced our Triple Crown carbide end mill program. This application-specific offering had an immediate impact on the industry.

Internally, we added state of the art machines to expand our fluting and threading capacity. We also added critical equipment that is dedicated to the manufacturing of special aircraft/aerospace tooling. Because of our involvement with NASA and Lockheed Martin, our General Manager was invited to view the first launch of the Orion space capsule.

An increased volume in our special tools area necessitated an expansion of our product application/engineering group, and we were fortunate to find two experienced engineers that blended nicely with long term employees.

Our new website continues to grow as an online resource for our distributors and end users with new material added several times a month. Browsing our product offering is much easier now and ordering online now offers great incentives. We have also been sending out our monthly newsletter, The Cutting Edge, which gives insight into our company, products and services as well as industry specific news and announcements. We are continuing to make improvements to our website and online presence to help make interacting with Regal even easier.

Regal is More Than Just Cutting Tools

Regal Cutting Tools participated in the International Manufacturing Technology show in Chicago. Our theme was “Peak Performance,” featuring products designed to enhance productivity.

Continuous improvement training took place in all of our departments, insuring that our employees are equipped to meet the challenges of an ever changing technological environment. Sixteen “Great Idea” red golf shirts were awarded to employees who contributed recommendations that improved productivity, efficiency or safety in our plants. Our ladies of customer service wore lavender “SuperTuf” shirts throughout the summer during our “Two-for-Tuesdays” promotion and our traditional Bears vs Packers dress up with team colors was the success that it has always been.
