Regal’s Unipass Drill ‘N’ taps are made from quality high speed steel and are designed for production drilling. The tool’s fast and simple operation eliminates the time spent in changing tools or in the case of multiple spindle machines reduces the number of holders needed. Because the two operations are performed from one shank, perfect alignment is assured and the drill size will produce a standard per cent of thread.

You may have seen demonstrations of a handheld drill performing the two operations separately then using a combination tool to show the improved and faster function. This certainly is one good use of combined drill and taps. Typically, these tools have either a hex driveor three flats on the shank. Here are some important things to know regarding this product:

Unipass Drill ‘N’ taps are made from quality high speed steel and are designed for production drilling.
The helical flute design of both the drill and the tap sections permits the holes to be drilled and tapped at relatively high speed.
The drill section is designed to be self centering for easy starting, with a 118 degree helical point on smaller sizes and a split point in larger sizes.

The configuration of the part is not an obstacle, it’s important to remember the drill section must break through the material before the tap engages in the part.
Can be used in many materials including steel, aluminum, brass and malleable iron.
Suitable to be used in a machining center or on multiple-spindle drilling heads with reversing mechanisms.

Unipass Drill N’ Taps are available in sizes from #4 to ¾” in both UNC and UNF and metric sizes from M3 to M 12. Pipe sizes from 1/16” to 1” are also standard.
