We can apply these highly defined geometries and dimensions to our SuperTuf line of special taps as well. With exact measures of cobalt, vanadium, and tungsten, we specially formulate taps with the characteristics perfect for cutting threads in any workpiece.
With one of the most extensive catalogs in the industry, Regal offers standard tap lengths up to 12 inches. We can build longer special taps, up to 24 inches, depending on the necessary diameter and thread length. Longer taps are useful in modern CNC machine tools that use taps extending farther from the spindle than standard taps can reach.

No matter how complex the job, we will ship your special tap from a powdered metal blank in 10 business days or less. Specials created from bar steel will require a 20-working day delivery. Special features including through coolant and special coatings will add additional manufacturing time to the order. Regal’s industry insight and experience helps us identify emerging trends and anticipate needs. To improve response times, we make and keep on hand a large inventory of blanks – heat-treated steel with various common flute geometries already cut. These can be quickly finished to any ANSI standard and USCTI table dimensions. Special taps from HSS blanks leave the shop in five days or less – many are ready to go the next day.
